Our Client is the Support Services Division of this rapidly expanding group and provides vital services in food logistics to remote sites in post conflict locations and remote areas.
They ensure essential items such as food and bottled water is delivered with minimal disruption, under the most challenging conditions.
Our Client manages a large food distribution contract from distribution centres located in Africa on behalf of a large peacekeeping force. They are currently seeking a QA Auditor / Trainer for these multi-temperature distribution centres.
Reporting into the QA Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for
managing and promoting continuous improvement of the food safety program throughout the group, monitor compliance of the food safety program through internal and external auditing.
You will oversee the management of the corrective action program through direct contact with Line Managers to ensure actions are implemented in a timely manner with an effective outcome and ensure relevant training is provided where appropriate to enable staff to follow SOPs and contractual requirements.
You will undertake internal audits as per the agreed schedule set by the QA Manager and the Group Technical Manager and will monitor and ensure compliance with the food safety program through internal auditing and reporting deficiencies to the DGMs.
You will oversee the implementation of suggestions and preventative actions raised from the audits and will report audit score and findings to DGMs and the Operations Controller after each audit conducted with particular reference to trend analysis.
You will manage the product specifications database, continually update international legislation for internal circulation and liaise between in theatre QA Teams, Statistical Sampling, Suppliers, Procurement and the Central QA department.
Finally you will assist the QA senior management to complete strategy and will ensure staff are aware of customer compliancy requirements and that non compliant
product does not reach the end customer.
Knowledge and Skills:
To meet this unique challenge, you will ideally be an accomplished QA Manager with your quality assurance experience ideally gained in an fmcg environment with a strong understanding of food safety programs, HACCP principles, inspection and audit programs.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by a tertiary education with a qualification in a science discipline, ideally food technology.
You should have formal accreditation as an Auditor or Trainer in HACCP Food Hygiene / Handling and ideally experienced in implementing, developing and conducting food hygiene / food safety training. BRC Audit knowledge, or equivalent is highly desirable.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally in French and some Arabic, able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
The basic salary is paid in Euros and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus payable after 12 month's service which is also paid in Euros and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, permanent disability and death benefit, bereavement leave and meals are all provided free. In addition you will have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also use of the internet for e-mails etc.
Ex-Patriate employees will receive 40 days annual leave per year. In addition Ex-Patriate employees will receive 1 paid return economy flight in their first year of employment and thereafter 2 return economy flights per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client
